Mid-Season Update Brings Recon Buffs as Technical Issues Persist

Marathon's mid-season 1.0.6 update dropped with significant ** Recon - Intel Shell improvements** — Echo Pulse now distinguishes between enemy Runners and UESC targets, while Signal Jammer no longer blocks pings. The community responded positively on X, with the official patch announcement drawing 2,836 likes and strong engagement around the new ★ BR33 Victory Lap - BR33 Volley Rifle - Deluxe unique weapon. However, technical problems continue plaguing the community. Reddit users report server errors wiping inventories entirely, with u/According_to_Mission losing "everything I had equipped" after a connection failure. Meanwhile, Steam reviews remain surprisingly positive despite these issues, with one 340-hour player noting the game is "very fun once you put in the time to understand it." The Free Kit Frenzy experimental queue also launched, restricting players to white-tier sponsored kits only — a move that splits opinions between accessibility advocates and hardcore extraction purists.
