Weapons
At 24 damage per round with 600 RPM and a 20-round Heavy Rounds magazine, the Twin Tap HBR delivers strong mid-range burst output that pairs perfectly with Recon's ping-before-engage playstyle. Sources list these values, and the mid-range rating means you can act on Echo Pulse intel from a disciplined position — not too close, not overextended. The Heavy Rounds ammo type also provides natural damage consistency against armored targets without requiring sustained fire that would reveal your position.
At 12 damage and 720 RPM with a 30-round Light Rounds magazine, the Copperhead RF fills the CQB gap the Twin Tap HBR leaves. When a Tracker Drone flushes a hostile into close quarters or you need to clean up after an Echo Pulse commit, the Copperhead's fire rate handles the pressure. Light Rounds ammo is abundant, keeping you sustainable across a full solo run.

Early Warning System
PASSIVE
S-tier rated passive that alerts you when a hostile Runner is nearby. As a solo Recon player with no squad feeding you callouts, this acts as a second layer of situational awareness on top of Echo Pulse, catching runners that are closing on your flank before your pulse cycle reaches them. This is the single highest-value core for solo Recon.
B-tier rated prime core that adds additional pulses to Echo Pulse AND returns prime energy on kills against pinged targets. For solo play this is a perpetual motion machine — the more you act on your own pings, the faster Echo Pulse recharges, compressing the 2.5s pulse interval effectively and keeping your map picture current throughout an engagement.
Advanced Tracking
TACTICAL
Tracker Drone marks targets it damages, revealing them to crew. Even solo, the reveal-on-damage effect means a Microbot hit gives you a confirmed position readout before the Overheated DoT resolves — letting you pre-aim the entry point with the Twin Tap HBR while the target is burning and occupied.
Implants
HEAD
Energy Harvesting V4 (Superior)
Firewall: -5, Tactical Recovery: 40%
Tactical Recovery at 40% directly compresses Tracker Drone cooldown, which is Recon's primary solo offensive tool. Faster Drone cycling means more Overheated procs, more reveals, and more opportunities to act on the Eyes on Fire chip window. The -5 Firewall trade is negligible against the tactical uptime gain.
TORSO
Survival Kit V4 (Superior)
Ping Duration: 20s, Firewall: 5, Heat Capacity: -5
Ping Duration +20s is a direct force multiplier for this build's entire identity. Echo Pulse pings last dramatically longer, giving you and your positioning more time to act on revealed targets. The Firewall +5 partially offsets Energy Harvesting V4's penalty, and the -5 Heat Capacity is a minor trade for what is arguably the most playstyle-defining implant available to Recon.
LEGS
Graceful Landings V4 (Superior)
Melee Damage: 20, Agility: 20, Fall Resistance: 50%
The passive Frenzy Matrix triggers on hostile eliminations, granting increased tactical recharge rate and sprint speed. For solo Recon this creates a momentum loop — kills accelerate Drone recharge, which feeds more reveals, which feed more kills. Agility +20 also improves repositioning speed between pulse positions, and Fall Resistance 50% enables aggressive vertical movement without position-telegraphing fall damage.
