BUILD REPORT
Ghost Protocol
Strike fast, take the loot, and vanish before anyone can retaliate — this build chains Grapple mobility into rapid engagements and clean disengagements, using the Pickpocket Drone to strip high-value items without extended firefights. Every item choice compresses your exposure window: get in range, deal decisive burst damage, and be three rooftops away before the corpse hits the ground.

Weapons
Twin Tap HBR
PRIMARY
At 24 damage per round with 600 RPM and a 20-round Heavy Round magazine, the Twin Tap HBR delivers serious mid-range burst pressure in a precision rifle platform. The burst-fire pattern rewards the hit-and-run cadence perfectly — fire your burst from an aggressive Grapple angle, then break contact before the enemy can stabilize. The precision rifle class also benefits from optic mods that tighten the engagement window.
Bully SMG
SECONDARY
At 15 damage per round, 540 RPM, and a CQB range profile on Heavy Rounds, the Bully SMG fills the gap when a target closes distance after the Grapple approach. It outputs enough sustained DPS to finish a weakened target at close range without forcing a reload mid-fight on the primary, keeping the pressure-to-escape pipeline clean.
Weapon Mods
CHIP SLOT
See Ya (Superior)
Reloading on an empty magazine triggers a brief invisibility window. For a hit-and-run build, this is a direct escape mechanic baked into the reload cycle — dump the Twin Tap HBR burst, go empty, reload, and break contact under invisibility. This is arguably the single best chip for Thief's playstyle on a burst weapon.
OPTIC SLOT
Vital Intel (Prestige)
Greatly increases handling and ADS speed while enabling a proximity sensor on radar. When hostiles are nearby, this weapon gains increased handling and accuracy. For a Thief using X-Ray Visor to pre-scan threats, knowing hostile proximity during the engagement window lets you commit or abort a Grapple approach with full information — pairs directly with the shell's intel-gathering Trait.
MAGAZINE SLOT
Rodeo Mag (Prestige)
A custom mod for the Bully SMG. Sources list it at +60 fire rate, -13.2% recoil, and +49 magazine size. That magazine expansion is transformative for CQB — the Bully goes from a 23-round mag to a reported ~72 rounds, meaning you can spray through an entire engagement without reloading while the chip on the primary handles the escape window.
BARREL SLOT
Steady Barrel (Superior)
Greatly increases stability, ready speed, and accuracy while moving. For a Grapple-in, burst-out playstyle, shots are frequently taken mid-momentum after landing from the Grapple. The ready speed bonus tightens the time-to-first-shot window after swinging in, and the moving accuracy bonus compensates for the post-grapple repositioning micro-movement.
GRIP SLOT
Precision Grip (Superior)
Greatly improves ADS stability and reduces vertical recoil on the Twin Tap HBR. Burst-fire precision rifles punish vertical recoil on follow-up bursts — this locks the second and third burst on target when the enemy survives the opener, which matters on the hit-and-run timeline where you can't afford a drawn-out mag dump.
Shell Cores
Hit and Run
TACTICAL
Directly named for the playstyle. Striking a target with a melee or knife attack immediately after grappling both Hacks them AND knocks random loot from their backpack. This is the Thief's signature combo loop: Grapple in, melee on landing, loot drops, Drone hoovers items, disengage. It converts every aggressive Grapple into a loot event and a Hack, feeding X-Ray Visor intel while simultaneously strip-mining the target.
Hideout
PRIME
While piloting the Pickpocket Drone you become invisible. This is critical for solo extraction — deploy the Drone to hook high-value items from distance, pilot it safely without your physical body being targetable, then retrieve loot from the Drone cache. Rated B meta, but for solo hit-and-run extraction this is among the best Prime cores available to Thief.
Case the Joint
PASSIVE
Increases X-Ray Visor vision range. The Thief's Trait already color-codes hostile inventory value — more range means earlier routing decisions. For solo play this is pure safety: you identify whether an engagement is worth taking before committing the Grapple. Avoids the core Thief weakness of running into fights it can't win.
Implants
HEAD
Sprint Kit V2 (Enhanced)
Loot Speed: 10%, Agility: 10, Fall Resistance: 10%
Agility +10 directly increases movement speed, which is the primary survival stat for a hit-and-run build on a shell with no shield. Loot Speed 10% accelerates the extraction phase. Fall Resistance 10% synergizes with aggressive Grapple play — landing from height mid-combat or during extraction is common. The passive Tox Injectors (knife heavy attacks briefly apply Toxin) also layers with the Hit and Run core's melee-after-grapple combo.
TORSO
Nimble Fingers V2 (Enhanced)
Loot Speed: 25%, Agility: 5
Loot Speed +25% and Agility +5 are both on-priority stats for this build. The Thief's extraction efficiency lives in how fast you can loot after a Drone hook or container open. Stacking Loot Speed here with Sprint Kit V2 in the head slot creates a meaningful compounding acceleration on the extraction window — the moment enemies are neutralized or you've grappled to a cache, you're in and out faster than any other configuration.
LEGS
Graceful Landings V4 (Superior)
Melee Damage: 20, Agility: 20, Fall Resistance: 50%
Agility +20 is the highest single Agility value available in confirmed in-database leg implants, critical for a shield-less 120 HP Thief whose survival entirely depends on not being in the line of fire. The Melee Damage +20 directly amplifies the Hit and Run core's melee-after-grapple combo damage. Fall Resistance +50% makes aggressive Grapple angles from elevated positions risk-free. The passive Frenzy Matrix (defeating a hostile increases tactical recharge rate and sprint speed) compounds the hit-and-run loop — each kill shortens Grapple cooldown and boosts escape speed.

Thief Cradle Build — Season 2 Stat Plan

Free respec · resets each season
Primary investment in Dexterity for Agility and Loot Speed gains, with secondary investment in Recharge to ensure Grapple and Drone are available more often across the run.
DEXTERITY TRACK
14 ENERGY
PERK · Full Throttle
Investing to 14 Energy in Dexterity targets all three perks in sequence. Loot Siphon at 5 Energy is reported to grant Tactical energy on opening unlooted containers — directly feeding Grapple charge during the loot phase. Slider at 11 Energy reportedly reduces heat generation from sprint sliding, which matters when spamming slides to break line-of-sight during extraction. Full Throttle at 14 Energy reportedly grants Cardio Kick effects at run start — a free movement speed boost at the most vulnerable moment of every deployment. All values are unconfirmed per source data.
RECHARGE TRACK
10 ENERGY
PERK · Primed
Head Start at 4 Energy is reported to give partial Tactical (Grapple) charge at run start — closing the window where you're most vulnerable without a mobility escape. Primed at 10 Energy is reported to give partial Prime (Drone) charge as well, meaning both core abilities have charge banked before the first engagement. For a solo Thief whose entire gameplan depends on Grapple availability, starting hot on both abilities is high-value. Values unconfirmed per source data.
STRENGTHS
+Hit and Run core + Graceful Landings V4 (Agility +20, Melee +20, Fall Resistance +50%) turns every Grapple into a loot-stripping melee opener with no fall damage risk
+See Ya chip on Twin Tap HBR creates an emergency invisibility escape baked directly into the reload cycle — dump the burst mag and vanish
+Nimble Fingers V2 (Loot Speed +25%) plus Sprint Kit V2 (Loot Speed +10%) stack to a meaningful extraction speed advantage, compressing exposure time at high-value containers
+Hideout core makes Drone piloting sessions effectively invulnerable — pilot invisibly, hook loot, retrieve, all without physical body exposure
WEAKNESSES
120 base HP with no shield means a single missed Grapple or forced extended engagement can result in elimination — the margin for error is extremely low
Rodeo Mag stats are source-listed, not in-game confirmed — if the magazine size figure is incorrect, the Bully SMG's 23-round mag may feel constraining in sustained CQB scenarios
RANKED NOTE
This is a casual-optimized build with no ranked constraints applied — the Thief is rated Solo S in ranked play, so this configuration is theoretically competitive in solo ranked queues, but the casual-first tuning means ranked performance will depend on execution rather than meta optimization.
⬢ Build Analysis
Ghost Protocol is built around a specific loop that the Thief executes better than any other shell: locate, strike, extract, vanish. The cornerstone is the Hit and Run + Grapple Device combo — you swing in, melee on landing, the target gets Hacked and spills loot, Hideout lets you pilot the Drone invisibly to collect it, and See Ya on the Twin Tap HBR gives you a reload-triggered invisibility window to break contact. That's three separate escape/stealth vectors in one engagement cycle. The Graceful Landings V4 investment is non-negotiable here — Agility +20 on a 120 HP no-shield shell is the difference between surviving the disengage sprint and dying to chip damage, and the Melee +20 makes that Grapple landing punch meaningful rather than cosmetic. Dexterity track's Full Throttle path into Recharge track's Primed gives you charged abilities at deployment start, closing the naked window every Thief player knows too well. The Twin Tap HBR at 24 damage and 600 RPM hits hard enough to force the engagement onto your terms — two bursts on a weakened target before you're already on the Grapple out. This isn't a combat build. It's a precision predator that only fights when it already has the exit mapped.
