What is the best stealth shell in Marathon?
Assassin is the dedicated stealth shell with cloaking as its Prime ability and high-mobility reposition tools. Thief is a strong secondary option - Pickpocket Drone loots passively while you stay hidden, and Grapple Device lets you exit contested zones without combat.
How do you avoid PvP in Marathon?
Stay off main rotation paths, listen for footsteps and gunfire, prioritize map edges and unconventional routes, and use scanner tools to track enemy positions. The best stealth players never engage unless forced - they loot, gather Holotags, and exfil while others fight.
Does stealth work in Marathon Ranked?
Yes - stealth is one of the strongest solo Ranked strategies. Assassin and Thief routinely top solo leaderboards because they can collect Holotags and extract without contesting fights. Higher-level PvE enemies still hear you, but other players are the bigger threat in Ranked.
