THE SHADOW STRIKE SETUP
Season 2's balance changes buffed AssassinStealth's core identity while nerfing defensive options across the board. The Shadow Strike core now deals "greatly increased damage when attacking from invisibility" — and with self-revive kits nerfed, aggressive shells like Assassin are climbing faster than ever. This build centers on the Shadow Strike core paired with V22 Volt ThrowerSMG for maximum burst damage from stealth.
Primary weapon: V22 Volt Thrower with Flechette Split ActionBarrel MODPrestige barrel mod. The Volt Thrower's 18 damage per shot at 507 RPM becomes lethal when combined with Shadow Strike's invisibility bonus. The Flechette Split Action mod increases hip-fire accuracy and stability — critical for close-range assassinations where ADS time gets you killed. Secondary weapon: CE Tactical SidearmPistol with Pinpoint BarrelBarrel MODSuperior for mid-range cleanup and shield break potential.
IMPLANT CONFIGURATION FOR BURST DAMAGE
Head slot: Energy Harvesting V4HeadSuperior for 40% tactical recovery. More Phase Shift uptime means more invisibility windows for Shadow Strike procs. Torso slot: Knife Fight V4TorsoSuperior for 50 melee damage and 20% fall resistance. The melee damage stacks with Shadow Strike's invisibility bonus — your utility KnifeMelee becomes a one-shot elimination tool against most shells. Legs slot: Graceful Landing V4LegsSuperior with Frenzy Matrix for 20 melee damage, 20 agility, and 50% fall resistance.
This configuration gives you 70 total melee damage boost before Shadow Strike's invisibility multiplier. Combined with the utility knife's base 80 damage, you're eliminating 175+ HP targets from stealth in one hit. The fall resistance lets you drop on targets from elevation without taking positioning damage.
WIN CONDITION AND EXECUTION
Your win condition is burst elimination of isolated targets followed by immediate extraction. Phase Shift into position, proc Shadow Strike invisibility, eliminate with V22 or utility knife, then disengage before backup arrives. The Season 2 self-revive nerf means downed targets stay downed — no more second chances for your victims.
Target priority: other stealth shells first (ThiefStealth is your biggest threat), then support shells like TriageSupport who enable enemy team cohesion. Avoid extended fights with DestroyerCombat or high-HP targets unless you can guarantee the elimination. Your 100 HP means any extended engagement is trading unfavorably.
Map positioning: stick to high-ground routes and container areas where you can break line of sight quickly. Your fast movement speed lets you rotate between Holotag sites faster than most shells can respond. Use Shadow Step's reduced footstep audio to approach targets who are looting or engaged with other threats.
SEASON 2 META ADVANTAGES
This build capitalizes on three Season 2 changes: the Shadow Strike damage buff makes your assassinations more consistent, the self-revive nerf removes your victims' safety net, and the general shift toward aggression favors shells that can eliminate targets quickly. With defensive options weakened across the board, Assassin's burst damage approach is more viable than it's been since launch.
The V22 Volt Thrower's single-magazine design synergizes perfectly with Assassin's hit-and-run playstyle. One magazine, one elimination, then Phase Shift to safety while the weapon recharges. No reload vulnerability windows that get burst-damage shells eliminated.
