Every new player who picks up the AssassinStealth shell expects to disappear and win every fight. That expectation is wrong, and correcting it is the whole lesson.
The Assassin is not a combat shell with an invisibility bonus. It is a positioning shell that happens to have a lethal surprise built in. Its value is in choosing when a fight happens, not in winning every fight it enters. The difference sounds subtle. After your first bad engagement where you burned Active Camo early and had nothing left, it will not sound subtle at all.
Active Camo lasts 15 seconds. Camouflage visibility and audio levels scale directly with your movement — still and crouching is nearly invisible; sprinting is not. That is the core discipline of this shell: you are invisible only as fast as you are patient.
THE SMOKE SYSTEM IS THE KIT, NOT A BONUS
Most guides treat the Assassin's smoke abilities as escape tools. That framing keeps players mediocre on this shell. Smoke is your engagement initiator, your reset button, and your repositioning engine — all three, every run.

The See Ya chip pairs well with any weapon you are running dry in skirmishes: an empty reload grants brief invisibility. That is a reset inside a fight, which is exactly what the Assassin uses to survive engagements that go sideways.
