Marathon's competitive ranked mode has officially launched alongside the game. Your Shell choice directly impacts your climb through the Holotag tiers, where death means losing both gear and rank points.
S-Tier Ranked Shells
For solo queue,
Thief
dominates with S-tier ranking. Built specifically for hitting Holotag extraction targets, Thief's Drone ability can steal Holotags from downed enemies while Light Carry reduces movement penalties. Perfect for the hit-and-extract playstyle ranked rewards.
Triage

Destroyer
both achieve S-tier in squad play. Destroyer's Force Slam forces Holotag drops from enemies, creating guaranteed scoring opportunities. Triage's Med Surge and enhanced revives keep aggressive squads in fights longer, leading to more consistent extractions.

Vandal
