Cryo Archive is Marathon's endgame zone - a large PvPvE raid map set on the abandoned UESC Marathon colony ship in orbit around Tau Ceti IV. It features Security Clearance progression, 7 vaults with puzzle mechanics, UESC enemy faction (bots, soldiers, commanders, wardens), and the Compiler boss fight. It's only available Thursday 10AM PDT through Sunday 10AM PDT.
How do you enter Cryo Archive in Marathon?
Entry requires Runner Level 25+, all six faction liaison contracts completed, a minimum loadout value of ~5,000 credits, and a squad of 3 (no solo or Rook). First-time runners often receive a sponsored free kit. Spawns are isolated initially, giving teams time to gear up before central conflicts.
What is the Compiler boss in Marathon Cryo Archive?
The Compiler is the endgame boss fight in Vault 7. After collecting all 6 AI Subroutines and the DNA Access Card, your squad enters the arena via a green orb jumping puzzle. Damage phases require activating 3 terminals showing the same symbol (out of 9 around the room), then shooting the exposed core. Drops Compiler Ganglion salvage and Contraband weapons including the Biotoxic Disinjector.
