What are Holotags in Marathon?
Holotags are score objectives in Marathon Ranked. They're tied to specific PvE targets, weapons, or events that rotate each Ranked window. Successfully eliminating or completing a Holotag target awards score that contributes to your Ranked tier climb. Tags must be extracted to count - dying with tags loses them.
How do you get more Holotags in Marathon?
Check the live Holotag board at the start of every match - know your targets before dropping. Prioritize easier tags (PvE objectives) over harder ones (specific weapon kills) early. Move efficiently between tag locations rather than committing to fights. A safe 4-tag extract beats a failed 8-tag attempt.
Do Holotags reset in Marathon?
Yes. Holotag targets rotate every Ranked window (Sunday 10AM PT through Thursday 10AM PT). Score persists across the season, but individual tag targets change. Check our Ranked Hub for the current rotation's priority list.
