THE POST-LAUNCH REALITY CHECK
Wardogs crossed 2 million copies sold as of September 15. That is not a number you argue with. Bulkhead shipped a game that hit 400,000 peak concurrent users in its first weekend, and the player count has held well enough to push community server infrastructure to its breaking point — which is exactly what Patch 0.11, delivered September 14, was built to address.
This cycle's signal is infrastructure-heavy and light on weapon or balance data. That is the honest read: one German solo-guide video (YT1), a short tips-and-tricks clip (YT2), and a handful of gameplay shorts constitute the creator coverage this week. Community discourse is still finding its shape. What we do have is a substantive patch and a developer stance that will reshape how you think about grinding — so let's work with that.
PATCH 0.11: COMMUNITY SERVERS GET THE ATTENTION THEY DESERVED
The headlining change in Patch 0.11 is the split of the server browser into dedicated Community and Official tabs. Bulkhead said it plainly: Community Servers were underserved, and the old browser buried them. Now Community Servers get text-based search, persistent IDs that survive map changes and restarts, and improved filter reliability. Community server admins building persistent populations finally have the tools to keep players coming back to the same server by name and ID rather than hunting through a chaotic list on every session.
As a bonus for the week following the patch, community servers are offering a 5% End of Match cash bonus. If you are grinding economy — building your wallet toward faction unlocks — this window is the time to prioritize community servers over official ones.
GPU crash fixes and cash exploit patches also shipped. The exploit closures matter more than they sound: Wardogs's economy is explicitly described by Bulkhead as a shared universe where one player's inflated wallet affects market conditions for everyone.
THE ENFORCEMENT LAYER — READ THIS BEFORE YOU GRIND
Bulkhead drew a hard line on economy abuse this patch, and the consequences are severe. Cash exploit abuse earns a timed ban and a full cash-and-XP reset to zero. Creating content that teaches exploit methods — not just playing them, but tutorializing them publicly — results in a permanent ban. XP farming via dedicated servers carries the harshest response: permanent bans, with Bulkhead explicitly stating they track server joins and flag accounts that stay in known farming servers beyond a few minutes.
This enforcement posture has direct meta implications. Any economy-accelerated loadout advantage that existed before September 14 is being actively collapsed. Players who built early leads through exploits are being reset. The economic playing field is flatter than it was at launch, which means faction unlock timing normalizes across the playerbase.
Update (October 13, 2026): Bulkhead's Oct 9 Season 2 preview dates Season 2 for October 15, 2026, and says details may still change before then. Its Road to Season 02 devlog (Oct 9) adds that each season ends with a cash and progression reset, with leftover savings auto-exchanged to Gold Bars.
