THE WEEK ONE RECORD
Wardogs entered Early Access on Steam on September 10, 2026 at $39.99, PC only, with consoles pushed to 2028. Over its first week Bulkhead and Team17 published an unusually specific set of numbers - a full in-game economy snapshot, an XP-by-role breakdown, and a sales trajectory - while staying quiet on the things players most want to know next. Here is the record, kept to what the studio actually put its name to.
THE SALES TRAJECTORY
Bulkhead reported 1.25 million players on day one (Steam news, September 10), then 2 million in under five days (Steam, September 15, confirmed in the Team17/Bulkhead press release). On concurrency, the studio's own words in the Patch 0.11 notes (September 12) thanked players for helping hit 400,000 Peak Concurrent Users. The press release separately cited a 428,666 PCU peak on September 13 - but attributed that figure to SteamDB, not to Bulkhead's own telemetry.
THE WEEKEND SNAPSHOT
The press release published an aggregate in-game economy snapshot for a fixed window: September 10 at 17:00 through September 14 at 05:00. Across that window:
- Cash earned: $1.28 trillion
- Cash spent: $561.9 billion
- Kills: 122.2 million
- Headshots: 86.1 million
- Revives: 60.7 million
- Heals: 27.7 million
- Tower captures: 4.6 million
- Drop-offs: 51.1 million
- Spots: 212.8 million
- Tips: 111.8 million
- XP earned: 188.9 billion
Bulkhead also posted the same weekend as an official stat card on @WARDOGS. The card figures match the totals above rounded up (1.3T earned, 562B spent, 123M kills, 61M revives, 28M heals, 5M tower caps, 112M tips, 52M drop-offs), so they are the same counts at fewer digits, not a second tally. The card adds two kill-level stats the list above does not: 33M headshot kills and 63M spotted-target kills. Bulkhead labels those separately from the headshots and spots totals above.
WHO CARRIED THE TEAMS
The same press release broke down XP share by role, summing to 100 percent:
- Support: 21.42 percent
- Assault (labeled Infantry on the official card): 20.54 percent
- Medic: 19.97 percent
- Recon: 18.66 percent
- Driver: 10.57 percent
- Pilot: 8.70 percent
Support led, and the studio's own framing, that teamwork pays, leaned into it. Assault and Medic sit close behind. The two vehicle roles, Driver and Pilot, trail well back, together under a fifth of earned XP.
THE ECONOMY AND PROGRESSION FACTS
Players start with a one-time $10,000 bank. Wardogs shipped with 37 weapons, 21 vehicles, and 3 maps. From the Season 1 changelog, a handful of progression gates are confirmed: the FOB unlocks at $7,500, artillery at Career 90, the heavy tank at Driver 35. The studio described a median player reaching roughly level 20 across 20 to 25 hours of play.
Patch 0.11 (September 12) added a community-server bonus of plus 5 percent end-of-match cash for one week and closed several cash exploits.
WHAT BULKHEAD DID NOT SAY
On Season 2: the September 18 WARDOGS post said the work was underway. On September 22, Bulkhead posted a weather-and-rain teaser video on X that dates Season 2 for October 15, 2026. There is still no content list and no word on whether progression wipes. We are holding null on both until Bulkhead publishes them. The rain in the teaser tells us weather is coming, not what else the season contains.
Correction (September 22, 2026): an earlier version of this article said Season 2 had no date and placed the weather teaser in the September 18 post. The teaser was posted September 22 and carries the October 15 date.
We have also deliberately kept three widely circulated figures out of this piece: SteamDB's review percentage, the third-party 5.9 million sold number, and any concurrency-ticker model. None came from Bulkhead or Team17, and week one is exactly when those distinctions matter most.
Update (October 13, 2026): Bulkhead's Oct 9 Season 2 preview lists the content planned for Season 2, including new weapons, vehicles and buildables and a rain weather preset, and says details may still change before the October 15 release. Its Road to Season 02 devlog (Oct 9) confirms that the end of Season 1 brings the first full progression reset: everyone's cash and progression are reset, and leftover savings auto-exchange to Gold Bars.
