How do you win PvP in Marathon?
Win the engagement before it starts. Audio is half the game - listen for footsteps, gear sounds, and gunfire to position yourself before the enemy sees you. Pre-aim common angles. Pick fights you can win in 2 seconds or less. Disengage if a fight goes longer than that - third parties always come.
When should you fight in Marathon?
Only when you have positional advantage, full health, full ammo, and a clear escape route. Fights in the open with no cover are almost always traps. Fights near loot you don't need are almost always greed. Fights when you're already loaded for exfil are almost always mistakes.
What are the best PvP weapons in Marathon?
Engagement range determines weapon choice. Close-range: WSTR Combat Shotgun, BRRT SMG. Mid-range: M77 Assault Rifle, Impact HAR. Long-range: Stryder M1T, Longshot. Bring weapons covering at least two ranges - getting caught at the wrong range loses fights instantly.
